About

Prudence Ann Bishop-Obbin

(Headmistress Administration)
AMMS is founded on the tenets of Christianity and therefore, is poised to raise the foundations of future generations through ethically and morally sound training in unison with modern education that respects cultural and racial diversities pursued through the lens of open mindedness, care and respect for our common humanity.
Born out of need in September 2012 to bring to about a paradigm shift in local education where students will not only gain access to academic knowledge but also allowed to engage in intellectual discussions that will aid critical thinking, and hence drive students’ curiosity to create solutions to address the challenges of our world today, is the spirit behind Alpha Morning-Dew Montessori School (AMMS).
The fulcrum of the school’s agenda is to fill the gap between knowledge acquisition and its rightful application. Hence, students are made to take risks to explore and engineer solutions to make their world a better place. AMMS also believes that no child should be left behind in the educational drive, and thus believes that strong student care, safety, and protection are essential for a better learning outcome. In furtherance of this ideal, we pride ourselves on strong differentiation practices that bring all students to the pinnacle of academic success with the cooperation of all stakeholders.
As a community based school, AMMS seeks to partner with stakeholders both locally and internationally in support of community service and learning. Numerous extra curricular activities are designed to empower individual student growth and talents.
By bringing affordable and quality education to your doorstep, we hope you will take advantage of this illuminating learning experience at our lovely educational facility to guarantee the future of your child’s training.

Director/Project Coordinator’s Notice:

AMMS believes that education must prepare a person for life, and with that, it seeks to use the Montessori approach of learning for children in their formative stages to give them the opportunity to explore their world and learn at the same time. As Ghanaian local school, we have also adapted the Ghanaian curriculum with a key focus on the six (6) core competencies (Critical Thinking & Problem Solving,  Creativity & Innovation,  Communication & Collaboration, Cultural Diversity & Global Citizenship , Personal Development & Leadership &  Digital Literacy)  which acts as a lens to inform all learning perspectives.

Besides, AMMS learning incorporates best practices across all spectrums of education that will prepare our students for the future world. As part of this, AMMS is the first school in Ghana to initiate the “Passion Project” which is a kind of Project-Based Learning that drives students to use the skill competencies developed during the primary years to develop a project in an interesting area viewed through one of the lenses of the 6 core competencies.

Re-writing the learning agenda for the future

AMMS is noted for its culture of excellence and the pace-setting for community direction and forward-thinking that drives development through internationally accepted educational practice that tasks students to lead their community to become responsible and responsive in the fight to protect our common humanity and guardianship of our environment.

AMMS seeks to empower pupils by profiling them to develop Character, Confidence, Creative-mindset, and Open-mindedness together with strong literacy, computation and scientific consciousness with engineering flare that aims at improving the needs of society.

To provide a cutting-edge local education comparable to international standards and benchmarks, centered on whole student development that provides a new crop of a citizenry that is responsive and responsible to take up the challenge of making our world a better place.
